Jazzanova – Little Big Beat (Studio Live Session)

Berlin’s nu-jazz vanguards Jazzanova—Alex Barck, Claas Brieler, Axel Reinemer, Jürgen von Knoblauch and Stefan Leisering—return with a rare studio live session at Little Big Beat Studios. Over three decades, they’ve fused broken beat, Latin percussion, and orchestral electronics, from their 1997 inimitable debut “In Between” to remixes for Incognito and Masters At Work. This intimate gig travels the audience back to live keys, rhodes, upright bass, and drums, spotlighting classics like “That night” alongside fresh ‘Hotel Calypso’-era experiments.

Little Big Beat Studios, a wood-paneled haven in Eschen’s creative core, amplifies the magic with its analog gear and 100-capacity vibe. No laptops here—just improvisational spark, where tracks transcend with rhythmic beat nods or modular synth twists. Past sessions have birthed unreleased edits, echoing fusion grooves, and bridging Berlin’s electronic edge with international scenes’ jazz pulse.

In a streaming era of polished hybrids, Jazzanova reaffirms nu-jazz’s dynamism: jazz improvisation reinventing disco, funk, and world sounds. Diverging from the conventional festival set—it’s uninhibited studio alchemy, with energy pulsating from the crowd.
